Support Mentorship In Tech and Change the World
Only 26% of all technology jobs are held by women and non-binary adults. We believe this is for no good reason! Stereotypes, lack of access, and lack of confidence have kept women and non-binary adults out of this growing and exciting field.
GDI offers virtual classes and events that equip women and non-binary individuals with the essential skills and encouragement needed to excel in this ever-evolving sector. Our curriculum spans from fundamental coding principles to hackathons and career prep courses designed to foster growth and prepare our community members for the careers of their dreams.
Most importantly, we know that mentors are key to getting more women and non-binary adults into tech. The value mentees find in guidance is overwhelmingly clear: an impressive 96% report that mentoring is very useful. This isn't just anecdotal; mentorship actively helps bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, significantly accelerating the learning curve for those being mentored. In fact, 82% of mentees in one program specifically reported feeling that they developed professionally as a direct result of their mentoring partnership, highlighting its tangible impact on career growth.
As a nonprofit, GDI is committed to providing these life-changing resources at little to no cost, ensuring accessibility for all. But we can't do it alone. Your investment in mentorship is an investment in the future of tech.
Imagine the impact:
If just 50 individuals commit to a monthly contribution of $40, we can fund an entire year of our comprehensive mentorship programs. This support will empower individuals to gain confidence, expand their professional networks, and take significant strides in their careers.
